Zapp

As part of the full brand redesign with CapeRock, I had the opportunity to conceptualise and (art) direct the on-air idents for Zapp, the Dutch Public Broadcaster’s tweens block.

The essence of Zapp's new brand identity is all about harnessing the energy from its character, and embodies graphical, dynamic, razor-sharp visuals.

Taking centre-stage in this transformation are the presenters, the iconic and instantly recognisable faces of Zapp. The new design acts as a vibrant playground for them, allowing their unique personalities to shine in the idents. Their journey begins with striking cut-outs of their faces. Each presenter embarks on a short character-driven journey that resonates with their personality and role on the channel.

We opted for stop-motion to imbue the idents with a hands-on vibe, complementing the channel's youthful, free spirit. The outcome is a series of 17 captivating idents filled with energy, fun, and a touch of rebellion.
